This resource is a worksheet with a clear outline of a world map, on which children are challenged to draw key world rivers on. This can be used in a Water topic or to simply develop geographical knowledge / map reading skills. This is a free resource with no reviews yet. TES registration and login are required.

Using atlases and/or Google Maps, the children will locate each river, match it to the area on their map and try to accurately draw it on and label it.

'The Titanic and Sea Travel!'

 

Iceberg straight ahead!!! On the 14th of April 1912, the famous passenger ship, thought to be unsinkable, the RMS Titanic, sank on her maiden voyage from the UK to America with great loss of life. The story of this tragic ship and its ill-fated sea voyage forms the centrepiece of this month’s featured theme

We explore:

  • How was the Titanic built?  
  •  Why she was thought to be unsinkable?
  • What happened on her fateful maiden voyage?
  •  How she sank?
  • What happened to the passengers and crew?
  • Were there any survivors and what were their stories?

 

We have 34 excellent themed resources that will provide answers to the above questions, look at other ships, sea travel and much more besides. The resources comprise of a mixture of: information, facts, research, hands-on activities, illustrations and video clips, as well as some detailed planning - each of which will successfully support this fascinating topic.

Art and Design. June's featured theme was the creative subject of art and design. In primary school, art and design can be fun, it can be decorative and it can also be used to convey a message, or tell a story. It can be created for exhibition, demonstration and illustration purposes, or it can simply be produced for personal enjoyment and as a vehicle for expressing the artist’s imagination and creativity. There can be little doubt that the subject has wide-ranging appeal and artistic creation is really enjoyed by many - children and adults alike!
